It will ship on or around 7\/10\/26. \u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMagic Sam a\/k\/a Sam Maghett was a revolutionary guitarist and one of Chicago’s legendary \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWest Side natural blues players.  A Mississippi native, the self taught musician would move to \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eChicago in 1950, playing small clubs and making a name for himself in short order.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eHis uncle acclaimed bluesman Shakey Jake a\/k\/a James Harris, would get Sam set up in\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ethe burgeoning nightclub circuit, eventually playing between sets with major blues greats like Muddy Waters.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAs his local reputation as a solid blues guitarist would take hold, he signed a deal with\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCobra Records as he kicked things off with the stellar double sided blues hit single “All Your\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eLove” and “Love Me With A Feeling” in 1957.  More blues belters followed like “All Night Long.”\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAs he was beginning to achieve sales and national attention, he was drafted into the army. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eUpon his return, he moved over to Mel London’s Chief Records label, where he followed\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eup with great blues rockers like “Square Dance Part One” “My Love Is Your Love” “Do The\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCamel Walk” and a stunning cover of Fats Domino’s “Every Night About This Time.”\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eHe would go on to release more solid recordings for Chief and Crash Records, as well as\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ea  a super rare single “Respect Me Baby” with Shakey Jake into the mid-sixties.   Towards the\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eend of the decade, Sam was truly gaining much acclaim by playing bigger venues and blues\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003efestivals, but as fate would have it, Magic Sam suffered a heart attack and his brilliance was\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003esilenced in 1969.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eToday, Magic Sam is revered internationally and considered one of the founders of the\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWest Side Guitar blues sound.   His music is second to none, as witnessed with this incredible \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ecollection of his finest sides from the Cobra, Chief, Crash and Paula Records era.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Jackpot Records","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47951417508058,"sku":null,"price":43.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0624\/5705\/3402\/files\/4517684-3604524.jpg?v=1780525460","url":"https:\/\/jackpotrecords.com\/products\/magic-sam-the-essential-magic-sam-cobra-chief-recordings-blue-vinyl-pre-order-out-7-10-26","provider":"Jackpot Records","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
