Jackpot Records, a cornerstone of the Portland, Oregon music scene, was started in 1997.  Named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the top 25 record stores in the U.S., Jackpot Records remains fiercely independent and vinyl-centric.  But we’re not just a store—we’re a record label, a community resource, and a place where music enthusiasts can come together to discover and appreciate all types of music, regardless of genre or format.  

Jackpot Records has also been privileged to host so many incredible live in-store performances, including ones by Deerhunter, Black Keys, Will Oldham, Calexico, Sleater-Kinney, Ghostface Killah, Franz Ferdinand, Calvin Johnson, Egyptian Lover, Colin Meloy, Rodriguez, Lightning Bolt, X, Thurston Moore, Steven Malkmus, The Gossip, Lupe Fiasco—there’s just too many to list here!  To have so many incredible artists grace Jackpot with their music in our store has been a dream and a high compliment.

Our award-winning Jackpot Records label started in 2004 and has grown to over 120 reissues/releases. Whether it’s providing a band-approved pressing of one of the most sought-after Psychedelic Pop records of all time (Gandalf), carrying the torch for music legends Etta James, The Meters, or Bill Evans, or even running the archive of the punk legends (and Kurt Cobain favorite) The Wipers, Jackpot is the place to turn to for your music-loving needs.  

The label also prides itself on the quality of our re-issues.  Nearly every release is sourced from Master Tapes and AAA Mastering when possible using legendary mastering engineer Kevin Gray.  We work hard to provide incredible sounding vinyl, and faithfully recreating the album artwork down and sourcing the original archival materials when available.  It’s Jackpot Records’ incredibly passionate (and obsessive) way to honor the original releases and have a label collection on which we’re proud to have our name.
