Originally released July 30, 1996, Beats, Rhymes and Life marked a new chapter for A Tribe Called Quest. The album introduced The Ummah, the production collective of Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and the emerging J Dilla, helping push Tribe toward a darker, more introspective sound. Featuring “1nce Again” and “Stressed Out,” the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and has become an important bridge between the group's celebrated early catalog and the next phase of their creative evolution. This RSD Essentials LP is pressed on sangria swirl color vinyl.
