Whose Muddy Shoes digs up essential, underrated recordings from two giants of the Chicago blues, Elmore James and John Brim. Recorded in different sessions for Chess Records between 1953 to 1960, these performances capture the raw, electrifying sound that helped shape modern blues. Across these recordings, James’ unmistakable guitar work and commanding vocals complement the lesser known (yet remarkable and gritty) singing of Brim. The LP offers a compelling portrait of two distinct blues voices at their best. Standout tracks include “Dust My Broom,” “Ice Cream Man,” and “The Sun Is Shining.” Bring home the sound of America’s greatest blues label in high fidelity with the Chess Acoustic Sounds Series. These audiophile reissues of classic albums and compilations from the Chess Records discography are remastered from the original analog tapes and pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings (QRP). Each disc is packaged in tip-on gatefold sleeves printed on high-grade board.
