Arguably one of the most important producers in music history, Sir George Martin, celebrates what would have been his 100th birthday this year. As part of the many celebrations, three albums of amazing orchestral covers by Sir George Martin - two of which “Off The Beatle Track” and “Help!” are covers of The Beatles, with the third album “...And I Love Her” a mixture of various love song covers of songs from the 60s including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and more. This has been overseen by Sir George Martin’s son Giles Martin, and faithfully cut from the original master tapes, replicating their original release.Help! was released the following year in 1965 and was the second release in the series. Featuring instrumental arrangements of Beatles songs, this reissue is true to the original UK release. The original US release tracklisting omitting “Bahama Sound” and used some of the tracks working titles ;Auntie Gins Theme” ( Just Seen a Face), “Thats A Nice Hat” (Only Love) and “Scrambled Egg” (Yesterday). The record came at a time when orchestral music had begun to embrace the sound of beat music - something it had initially dismissed as a ‘noisy’ genre, dismissing its integrity entirely. As Beatlemania grabbed hold of the world in the early 60s, and with respected ‘high-brow’ newspapers such as The Times of London giving serious analysis of Lennon and McCartneys song writing, attitudes began to shift. Overseen by Sir George Martin’s son Giles, Help! has been faithfully remastered from the original master tapes, replicating the original release. It is available on vinyl for the first time in decades.
