Recorded in 1982 but not released until 1986, Jealous marked John Lee Hooker's first album of original material in years and helped set him on the comeback trail that would lead to the GRAMMY-winning The Healer three years later.
Unlike many of his later records, this one skips the guest-star roll call and digs into a tougher, more stripped-back sound with Hooker’s seasoned band. Drawing on reworked deep cuts from his early catalogue, Jealous went on to win a W.C. Handy Award and earn a GRAMMY nomination.
