Following three critically acclaimed albums for Sub Pop, Lael Neale returns with As Killers Do, the first release on her new imprint, Consensual Sound, due November 2026. Recorded in the kitchen of her Echo Park bungalow on a Tascam cassette 8-track with longtime collaborator Guy Blakeslee, the album embraces minimalist, home-recorded intimacy while exploring sonic worlds spanning Paisley Underground, 60s girl groups, proto-punk, lo-fi folk and surrealist psych-pop. A gifted lyricist, Neale transforms anxiety into hope through songs rooted in handmade imperfections, launching a deeply personal new chapter built on direct connection over mass-produced culture.
