The legendary supergroup Mad Season released their only studio album, Above, in 1995, and now this grunge classic is back in an exclusive 2025 re-release on double 12" vinyl! This expanded edition not only includes the full original album but also rare bonus tracks and newly remixed versions.
Mad Season was formed by an all-star lineup: Mike McCready (Pearl Jam), Layne Staley (Alice in Chains), John Baker Saunders, and Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees). Their unique blend of melancholic ballads and powerful hard rock made Above a gold-certified hit. In addition to iconic tracks like River of Deceit and Wake Up, this special edition features three songs from their unfinished second album, now with newly recorded vocals by Mark Lanegan. Also included is a previously unreleased instrumental (Interlude) and a remixed version of their cover of John Lennon's I Don't Wanna Be A Soldier.
