Rainer Maria spent nearly two years writing and touring before releasing their third album, A Better Version of Me. With Caithlin de Marrais taking the lead on lyrics and Kaia Fischer focusing more on guitar, the band moved beyond their trademark dual vocals. The result brings the themes of their first two albums together while ditching the 'couples rock' tag in favour of something more individual and introspective, inspired by poet Rainer Maria Rilke's idea of separate lives orbiting one another.
