Twenty-two years in the making, and following nearly five years of painstaking archival work, the full story behind this miraculous collection of previously unreleased recordings is finally revealed.
The project began in 1994, when curator Takayuki Hamada first conceived an album centered on Roger Nichols' demos and commercial recordings. Over the following decade, Hamada persistently approached Nichols himself, emphasizing both the historical significance of the recordings and the long-standing demand from fans. His dedication eventually paid off, earning Nichols' approval for an official release.
The search then began in the vast tape archive housed in Nichols' home studio. After nearly five years of restoration and selection, this extraordinary collection was finally brought to fruition. Every track makes its official debut, including demo sessions featuring Nichols' longtime collaborator Paul Williams, members of Roger Nichols & The Small Circle of Friends, and musicians from The Parade.
Presented with a Japanese obi strip and pressed on Clear Skyblue Vinyl, this is a truly historic release for Roger Nichols fans.
