Somi Kakoma is a Grammy-nominated US-based singer, songwriter, playwright and actor of Rwandan and Ugandan descent. Her acclaimed 2022 album, 'Zenzile - The Reimagination Of Miriam Makeba', her seventh overall, is a celebration of the invaluable musical contributions and messages of social justice made by the 'first lady of African song' and features Somi's interpretations of some of Makeba's best known recordings.
A brand new (and newly mastered) double-vinyl format of the album is being finally made available exactly one year after the original CD and digital release on what would have been Makeba's 90th birthday (4th March 2022) - the vinyl release is coinciding with a concert at Fasching in Stockholm on March 7 and a London show at Ronnie Scott's on March 12.
