The 1965 Vault Records release features the stellar vibes of Roy Ayers throughout the session, which also includes top players like percussionist Chico Batera & bassist Sebastiao Neto both from the Sergio Mendes band, plus a very famous Brazilian guitarist/composer “Tony Brazil” rounding out the quintet with his legendary guitar style.
“Blue Satin” sets the tone for this mellow groove, as both Jack Wilson and Roy Ayers instruments bring out the best of this Mancini classic, followed by other favorites like “Days of Wine and Roses” “Mr. Lucky” “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” and a funky upbeat take on “Dear Heart.”
