This is the first time-ever (double) vinyl release of Royal Academy of Reality, the widely-acclaimed, 2003 cerebral pop masterpiece by the Swimming Pool Q's, one of the South's pioneering New Wave bands. Described by Rolling Stone's David Fricke as "pocket symphonies of silver guitar and warm water singing, Abbey Road wrapped in kudzu," Royal Academy of Reality features the classic Q's lineup with over 20 additional musicians including Brendan O'Brien, Maureen Tucker, and the late Samarai Celestial of Sun Ra. It's remastered from the original analog tapes by Jason NeSmith of Pylon Reenactment Society, who is a a co-producer of the forthcoming Olivia Tremor Control album, The Same Place.
