Having toured the world as the guitarist of indie rock band DYGL and captivated audiences with his twin-guitar performances alongside Takuro Okada in never young beach, Shimonaka now sets sail on a new sonic voyage this summer under the name "SHIMONAKA."
Drawing inspiration from the distinctly Japanese evolution of 1970s and '80s J-fusion and crossover music—a sound that has recently found passionate new audiences around the world. This is the new generation of tropical instrumental music.
The album was mixed by Takuro Okada. Mastering was handled by fellow Los Angeles-based engineer Dave Cooley. "SHIMONAKA" is released by Thaian Records, the independent label founded by Yuma Abe.
